Rules for Men’s Playoffs – 2002-2003

1.      These rules are based on all 72 teams playing in the 4 one night a week leagues. This will ensure that every club member will have an opportunity to take part in the playoffs. This will result in teams that curl on different nights and individuals that curl on different teams qualifying more than once. Teams will be placed in their respective playoff positions according to final point totals into a pre-determined draw. No effort will be made to avoid conflicts in cases where teams or individuals end up playing themselves or at conflicting times. Under no circumstances will games be allowed to be rescheduled. A winner must be declared and the winning team will continue.

2.      There will be three different playdowns:

  1. Club Championship
  2. Consolation Championship
  3. Last Chance Championship

3.      The Club Championship will be made of the following rinks:

Monday – top 2 teams

Tuesday – top 4 teams

Wednesday – top 2 teams

Thursday – top 4 teams

4 wildcard teams, that is the next 4 teams according to point total

The Club Championship will be a double knock out format.

4.      The Consolation Playdowns will be made up of the next 32 rinks according to points.

Consolation Playdowns will be a single knockout format.

5.      The Last Chance Playdowns will be made of the last 24 rinks according to points.

Last Chance Playdowns will be a single knockout format.

6.      All teams from each night will qualify for a playdown and will be identified by team name and the night the team curls.

7.      Teams will be placed into the draws according to total point.

8.      Only full or associate members may spare and they must play the lead or second positions.

9.      The posted draw is final.
